History of Shelby Middle-

Shelby Middle was first located on West Marion Street where it was originally Shelby High School. A new Shelby High was built which allowed the Board of Education to re-purpose the Marion Street building as Shelby Junior High with Thomas Wetmore as the principal. Shelby Junior High later was renamed to Shelby Middle.

A brand-new, state-of-the-art facility was built on South Dekalb Street and officially opened its doors for the 2011-2012 school year.
